I have used the Beamer for a couple of years. I didn't purchase it to illuminate my path as it is really not adequate as a powerful bike light.
I wanted it to be more visible to motorists which, in blinking mode, does the job. I ride mostly in early morning darkness in the city with street lights making things mostly visible on my one hour ride.
In blink mode the light does provide some illumination of my journey but not to the extent that a more powerful light would provide. In full beam mode it provides more light but still not a good light to see well where you are going.
But that is not a problem for me as I only use it in blink mode for drivers to be aware of my presence. I use it in tandem with a Photon Freedom Fusion headlamp.
